KEEP YOUR INNOVATION IDEAS COMING

Line level federal managers report that they are still being asked for bold and innovative ideas on how to improve the federal acquisition system, despite the fact that the current Administration has only about a year left to effectively implement any of them.  Apparently, the drive to streamline acquisition processes remains. It is notable that today’s federal acquisition environment is increasingly seen as a hindrance to national security missions, the effective delivery of citizen services, and the day-to-day operation of government.  This is an open invitation to contractors who have new ideas, or even variations on current practices that can help improve upon the status quo.  Contractors can’t totally disregard timelines, however, and should therefore make recommendations that either have real short-term potential or have broad-based acceptance.   It’s great to see that there is still energy and focus in the area of acquisition reform.  Don’t miss the chance, even if the changes at this point may be more incremental.
