FITARA FALLOUT: AGENCIES MAY RE-ORDER IT SPENDING PRIORITIES

Many federal agencies received poor grades on their initial Federal Information Technology Reform Act (FITARA) “report card” last week and may be re-thinking IT spending priorities as a result.  Congressional overseers, for example, do not believe that agencies have made enough effort to consolidate data centers and will be grading them on this, and other FITARA priorities.  Don’t think this is worth your time?  FITARA is not an unknown Kardashian   Many top federal contractors are already actively working on solutions designed to address reported FITARA shortcomings.  Data Center Consolidation, itself, may seem to be old news, but if agencies are being graded on this and other areas where Congress thinks work needs to be done, it will change what your customer buys and how you approach the market.  If you don’t know what FITARA says now is the time to find out.  Be ready to tutor your federal customer so they can get better grades next time.
